I decided to create a new blog to keep family things password protected and give me a place to share things with the world (or the three of you who are reading this...haha).

Day #1 Challenge (Organizing the "junk" drawer)
A Bowl Full of Lemons has a daily organization challenge that I am going to participate in. Jump on over to her blog to join in the fun! Check back daily to see the progress I make on the house!!
Today, it was to Organize the "junk" drawer. We all have a drawer we just toss things in. In my case, I toss everything in every drawer. I set out to tackle the actual "junk" drawers. Here is the before...
After taking everything out of the drawers and putting it in another box like was suggested, I re-lined the drawers with some fun polka-dot paper and pulled out my little baskets and got organized! Here is the after!
Wow...I love how they look! It motivated me to start on the utensil and kitchen towel drawers. They were pretty bad as well.

And here are my beautifully organized utensil and towel drawers!
Then the organization bug REALLY bit! My cabinets have been a mess for years because I've just never taken the time to do something about them. This is our little guy's cabinet. He couldn't reach it and it had OLD stuff still hanging around.
We now have a large box to give to his new baby cousin with things he will need in the future!
He even helped sort through all of the cups and stack them for me.
While he stacked the cups, I turned to the MESSY cabinet that held our glasses and his candy. There was VALENTINE'S DAY candy still hanging around.
Now our cabinet is neat and old candy free!
Then I came across THIS mess when I was ready to put little guy's things in his arms' reach. YIKES! The Tupperware and plastic cup monster had to be handled.
Yes, all of this came out of that cabinet. I am so ashamed!
But after sorting through, we kept the cups we wanted and put little man's plates, bowls and cups where he can start helping himself. Aah...self serving child...this is going to be nice!
And we put the Tupperware where his mess was.
You see...what had happened was I kept opening cabinets and seeing messes like this. A busy mom in a hurry didn't have time to put things back...just throw it in there!
It was getting the job done, but when I needed something it took me forever to find what I needed. So.....
TA DA!
Nice, neat and organized. I can actually get to the steamer, tea maker and vacuum sealer now. What ever will I do with myself?
And then my cooking cabinets were in disarray! I couldn't let my organization kick skip over them!
Wow...I can get to my Pyrex and other cooking things with ease! I don't have to worry about opening the cabinet and it all come crashing down on me!
And lastly...I HAD to do something with the pantry. This is the one area I should not let slip this bad, but I have a bad habit of just shoving things where they will fit and slam the door shut. This is just embarrassing to even show.
But I have to show where I came from to where I am now! WOW. The amount of expired cans and boxes in the top is shameful. But how nice!
Yes, I was carried away and might think twice about Day #2 challenge for fear what I might get into! On the other hand, I LOVE my kitchen now and just think what I could do to the rest of the house!!!

Thanksgiving Feast at BES
Our little guy had his first Thanksgiving Feast at school. The parents joined the kids in the cafeteria to have a wonderful lunch of turkey and dressing, cranberry, ambrosia, green beans and dressing. Cody's favorite was the chocolate milk and roll. :) It was fun to eat lunch with him and his sweet class! His class made a Mayflower and pilgrims.

Lanier Under the Lights 5k
It was my first 5K since May. Don't judge me.
Now that I have THAT out of the way...Kara and I decided to take on the Lanier Under the Lights 5k. Her sister's family decided to do it as well. It was beautiful! The fall colors were beautiful as the sun set. Once it was dark, the lights were beautiful! This was my finish time, but add 5 minutes. Yes, I took a short cut to catch up with long legs Kara. Like I said...DON'T JUDGE! :)
At the end of the 5k, we posed for a picture. We had a great time and I hope to get another one under my belt before April and break 40 minutes!

Almost there...
...but we are still champions! Our beloved PRYAA Red Sox are second place champions! We had a fantastic season, but three evening games in a row took a toll on our sweet 4-6 year old boys. They played hard, but fell just a little short. We love our coaches and sweet team and will always remember our season!!
This picture sums up our season so well. Way to go boys!!

Halloween....Top Gun Style
This Halloween, my little guy wanted to be Mavrick from Top Gun. He has seen the highly edited TV version of Top Gun and LOVES the Tom Cruise character. We had two Halloween parties this year.
On Saturday, the Campbells and Dyers hosted an AMAZING Halloween party that my parents came up for. Mom and Dad went as a leaf raker and a pile of leafs. They won the adult funniest costume! I went as a boxer and my men went as Mavrick and Viper. There were some amazing and fun costumes and the food was amazing as usual. They went all out with decorations and even had a kids carnival in their garage complete with bobbing for apples!
Halloween night we got with the Duttons, the Sakaris, and the Wrights and had a game of backyard football, a yummy dinner and trick-or-treating complete with a hay ride! We came home with so much candy and it was fun trick-or-treating with friends!

Pumpkin Patch
We went to Burt's Pumpkin Patch and Uncle Shuck's Corn Maze with the Duttons and the Sakaris families. We had a great time finding out the pig was to blame for the missing farmer at the corn maze and picking out our pumpkins. The crowds were insane since the Ellijay Apple Festival was also the same weekend, but we braved it and had a blast!!

NATIONALS...HERE WE COME!

The Red Sox won tonight! It was a nerve racking game. In the top of the 3rd inning, we were down to the Braves 2-7. Then, going into the bottom of the 5th we were winning 16-8! They scored some runs on us, but we held them to a 16-12 win! We play the Nationals (who put us in the losers bracket) tomorrow. If we win, we also play Tuesday for the championship. LET'S GO RED SOX!

Red Sox Baseball!
We switched leagues this year and are now on the PRYAA T-ball Red Sox. We have had a GREAT season, with a 9-0-1 record. We lost the first game of the playoffs but are still in the tournament because of double elimination. Our game tonight determines who from the losers bracket goes to the championship game. GO RED SOX! Here are some pictures from over the season. We've had great coaches (and daddy has coached this season) and we are a "family" which is fun!We had to play 1/2 game in the POURING rain. I think the boys liked it!
We played CHAA this season along with our PRYAA teams, so he was able to play his friends' teams! SM was on the Blue Jays
Some of the coaches and two boys with their game balls.
The night we played CHAA Red Sox was a little confusing because we all looked alike, but had a blast! J and M are on the other team (who won the CHAA Championship this season).

My Life...My Love
The wonderful and talented James Adam Hill (www.jamesadamhill.com) photographed my love. This was a feather bed session. James and Michelle put this huge feather bed outside their studio and let him go wild with the feathers. There were so many OUTSTANDING photographs we had a hard time choosing which were our favorites. Enjoy the beautiful work!
