Picture of the day

I've let my blog posting slip, mostly because we've been super busy around here! I'll try to catch up this evening, but until then enjoy this TOO CUTE picture of my little guy and his 'girlfriend' from school. Man they start this boyfriend/girlfriend thing way too early!

And the rain continued to fall...

Images from around our house this afternoon. I was worried water was going to come in our back door, but it never did thank goodness. More rain is expected overnight and school is still canceled tomorrow.

From a year with no rain to THIS?!!?

It has been raining in Atlanta for a week now. At last report, we've had 18 INCHES of rain in 5 days. It is so bad, Gwinnett County schools were closed today due to roads flooding and buses couldn't get down roads! Now they are having mud slides in certain areas and more rain is on the way. Short stuff and I rode around town looking at the flooding here and we saw a couple of places. I didn't have my camera, but I was able to snap a picture with my cell phone. The pictures below are of the Suwanee Greenway. The walkway on a normal day is pictured below with the bridge in the far distance.

The next picture is what I took a little while ago. The water is rushing under the bridge like a river! I would like to get out with my camera and take more pictures, but short stuff is with me and I would be too worried watching him instead of taking pictures. If things still look like this tomorrow, I'll get out and take some pictures after I drop him off at school. Hopefully we won't have too much more rain!

The decision to go private...

I've been toying for a couple months now to make my blog private. What convinced me was two sorority sisters and fellow bloggers set their blogs private for more privacy and security for their children. The more I thought about it, the more it made perfect sense. I finally took a look at my live feed and I didn't recognize where many of the visitors were coming from and it began to freak me out. So with that said, WELCOME to our private family blog!

A Rainy Wordless Wednesday....no really...no words.....

Cody had his first soccer game yesterday and he did a great job! He scored 2 goals and had a wonderful time! There is an album of pictures if you click here, but here are my three favorite pictures.

This is his second goal scored. He ran this down the field and scored on his own.

School days....

My little guy started Pre-K this week. He was very excited and did a great job! He even went to the treasure box and received his prize for getting his stickers all week! We're a proud mommy and daddy! Here are some pictures on our way to school the first day.

Show us your life - School Pictures

I read Kelly's Korner blog and every Friday she has Show us your life. This week is School Pictures and I thought I would participate since I had some of these on my blog. Enjoy and don't laugh TOO hard!

Me and my cousin Jessica back in 1989 before a dance recital. My hair was curled with those pink and purple rod curlers...they were called Hot Sticks!

Me and Keya headed to decades day at our Junior High 1990. YOWZA at the jacket!

Me and my cousin Bree. WOW...the hair! The clear phone. The NKOTB poster on my wall. Clearly this was in the 80's!

We jump to High School. This was my Sophomore year 1992. The hair had calmed down thank goodness but it was still rolled!

Prom 1992. Holy puffy sleeves Batman! And the bouquet looks like I was ready to get married! I think my hair was so high on my head, I was 5 inches taller!!

Senior Class night 1995. These were my closest friends my senior year!! Gotta love the white pantyhose!

Another prom shot, this is 1994. Puffy sleeves gone but sequins were in FULL effect!

And finally, homecoming 1994. Yes, I was queen and this is my friend Chandi who was Senior Maid. I miss the long hair, but I just can't grow it back out! It gets to a certain length and I cut it back off.

I hope you enjoyed a look into my past! I had the big hair and awkward middle school phase, but I think it all evened out in the end!

Hong Kong Phooey!

Little man had his first Karate class today. He acted like an old pro and knew what to do. He got his uniform right after the class and he came home and directly put it on. He is VERY excited to start on Tuesday afternoon.

Spending time with MiMi

MiMi has been staying with us as much as possible before Cody goes to school and has been helping me SO much getting my house organized and in order. Here are some things we've been up to while she is here.

WAR EAGLE, HEY!!!

Since we were so close, we headed over to Auburn after the birthday party. I took Cody for his first EVER Momma Goldberg's Deli sandwich and nachos. He loved it and said it was the best place I ever took him to eat (but he says that a lot...so take it for what it is worth...haha). After eating we drove around campus showing him the important things like Jordan-Hare, Beard-Eaves, Samford Stadium, and THE sign. I also found out that my sorority dorm is moving to bigger and better dorms over by the stadium called The Village (ran into a Phi Mu and her mom in Momma G's and got the scoop). He LOVED Auburn and I hope we can take him to a game this year! WAR EAGLE!
