Buddy Fruits

I don't do product reviews and I don't get paid to do product reviews. With that said, I want to tell you about a product that we happened to find in Publix this week. It is called Buddy Fruits. It looked different and strange so of course I was attracted to it. The packaging says it is "pure blended fruit to go" and having to pack a healthy lunch for my little guy every day and trying to find healthy choices is hard so I was intrigued. I looked at their website and found this...
"Each of our squeezable "fruit to go" is all natural and contains 100% pure fruit and nothing absolutely nothing else."
That is all well and good, but will my little guy actually eat it? I gave him one at breakfast and before I turned around he had sucked the little pouch dry! He said "Mommy you should put one in my lunch box." Well there ya go! When I picked him up from school, he had eaten the one in his lunch box. After karate this afternoon, he asked for the third one. How on earth could I deny my child FRUIT?!
There are 5 different varieties of Buddy Fruits: Apple, Apple Cinnamon, Apple Strawberry, Apple Banana, and Multifruit. My little guy had Apple Cinnamon, Apple Banana and Multifruit. Since we are now OUT of the little pouches, we are going to the store tomorrow to pick up a bunch of them.
To find them in your Publix, they were in the produce section in the refrigerator case. If you can't find it, ask the produce manager to help you find it. If your Publix doesn't carry this AWESOME product, request it or you can order directly from Buddy Fruits website.

The Elf on the Shelf

We were able to meet Chanda Bell, writer and creator of The Elf on the Shelf. She was SO nice and talked to little man for a few minutes. She signed his book and I hope one day he passes it on to his kids. This is our favorite Christmas tradition and I hope it doesn't end anytime soon!

Cody's Class at the pumpkins!

Cody's class went to the pumpkin patch in front of the school/church today. He has the cutest and sweetest classmates! I cannot wait to go read to them tomorrow.

Being married is fun!

My neighbor posted this cute survey about her and her husband. I couldn't help but share and I encourage you to do the same! It was fun to do!

What are your middle names?
Mine is Amber, his is Arthur

How long have you been together?
Well...we have been together over 5 years now but we dated back while we were in college.

How long did you know each other before you started dating?
We actually met at a party in the Fall of 1998 and I thought he was handsome. After several months of flirting at Greek socials we finally went on a date.

Who asked who out?
I honestly don't remember but I do remember our first date was to a wrestling event. HAHA

Who made the first move?

Gosh that was so long ago! I think he made the first move.

How old are each of you?
I'm 32 and he's 35.

Did you go to the same school?
Not initially, but we both wound up at Columbus State University. How we both arrived there at the same time must have been divine intervention!

Are you from the same home town?

No. I grew up in Phenix City, Alabama. He grew up all over the world (literally). He was a military kid.

Who is the smartest?

Probably Dennis when it comes to computers, math and things of that nature. I would say I am when it comes to grammar, creative thinking and mommy things in general. We make a good mix!

Who majored in what?
I majored in Communication (more Communication Research than communication in general) and he majored in Computer Science (and got his Masters in the same)

Who is the most sensitive?
That's an easy one. ME without a doubt!

Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Probably BB's Best Burgers (Romantic, huh? haha)

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
We took a road trip to Key West, FL. We drove down the Gulf Coast, across the Everglades and down to the Keys. We stayed in Islamorada and drove down to Key West. We drove back up to Orlando and stayed overnight at Disney and spent the last day of our vacation at the Magic Kingdom. We left that night after the fireworks and drove all the way home to Columbus, GA. We got home about 5 am but it was worth it and I must say it was a BLAST. I'm ready to do it again.

Who has the worst temper?
I'll be honest, probably me. I'll fly off the handle quicker than he will.

How many children do you want?
Just our one little man. We actually had a conversation not too long ago about if we COULD have more, would we really and we both said that one is more than enough. God knew what he was doing when he gave us only one.
Who does the cooking?
I do most of it, but Dennis will do the grilling when I ask nicely!

Who is more social?
Me without a doubt. I'm a social butterfly and I love getting out and about. I think Dennis could stay inside or on the golf course by himself and he would be content.

Who is the neat-freak?
Well, neither of us really....hahaha

Who is the most stubborn?
DENNIS! Oh my goodness. You could get a brick wall to change its mind before you could get Dennis to.

Who wakes up earlier?
Dennis does. That is a perk of being a stay home mommy...I get to sleep a little bit later (but only about 30 minutes later.)

Where was your first date?
It was to a wrestling match at the Civic Center. It was when wrestling was fun in the late 90's. Don't judge us!

Who has the bigger family?
Dennis does. He has 5 aunts and 1 uncle. My family is pretty big, too, but his is bigger!

Do you get flowers often?
Nope. I've told him several times I'm not crazy about getting them as a gift because they just die! If I want flowers I will buy them myself when I'm grocery shopping.

How do you spend the holidays?
With both our families. We usually do the holiday shuffle and make it to both places at least for a little while.

Who is more jealous?
Neither of us.

How long did it take to get serious?
Well, a while I guess. We dated in '99, then ended up dating other people for 5 years. We finally got back together in 2004 and were married in 2005!

Who eats more?
Dennis does, but I eat the bad stuff and he eats healthier than I do.

What do you do for a living?
I'm a stay home mommy, and Dennis is a manager of the computer developers at Code Ready

Who does the laundry?
Me.

Who’s better with the computer?
I can make my way around the computer very easily and know several applications, but Dennis obviously is much better since he's the developer!

Who drives when you are together?
Dennis. He can't stand to be a passenger. He says he gets bored too easily when he isn't driving. :)

What is your song?
This is a touchy subject with us. PERSONALLY I think our song should be "Let's Stay Together" by Al Greene because I think that song is perfect for us. DENNIS, on the other hand, says "Nookie" by Limp Bizkit is "our song" because we were at a party and that song happened to be playing when we had our first kiss so long ago.

Okay that was fun! Now it is your turn! I want to know about you and your husband!!

Pizza with Pops

Little man has been asking for 3 weeks when his daddy was going to come to his school and eat pizza with him for Pizza with Pops. The day finally arrived today. He picked out his outfit and was super excited the entire way to school. He asked before he went in when daddy was going to be there. When I came to pick him up so Dennis could go back to work, he was so proud his daddy was there! He painted Dennis a 'tie' which he has on in the picture and made several different craft projects for him. I could see why he was so excited! Wednesday he gets to visit the school's pumpkin patch and then Thursday I am the guest reader. This is a fun week of school for him!!

Picture of the day

I've let my blog posting slip, mostly because we've been super busy around here! I'll try to catch up this evening, but until then enjoy this TOO CUTE picture of my little guy and his 'girlfriend' from school. Man they start this boyfriend/girlfriend thing way too early!

And the rain continued to fall...

Images from around our house this afternoon. I was worried water was going to come in our back door, but it never did thank goodness. More rain is expected overnight and school is still canceled tomorrow.

From a year with no rain to THIS?!!?

It has been raining in Atlanta for a week now. At last report, we've had 18 INCHES of rain in 5 days. It is so bad, Gwinnett County schools were closed today due to roads flooding and buses couldn't get down roads! Now they are having mud slides in certain areas and more rain is on the way. Short stuff and I rode around town looking at the flooding here and we saw a couple of places. I didn't have my camera, but I was able to snap a picture with my cell phone. The pictures below are of the Suwanee Greenway. The walkway on a normal day is pictured below with the bridge in the far distance.

The next picture is what I took a little while ago. The water is rushing under the bridge like a river! I would like to get out with my camera and take more pictures, but short stuff is with me and I would be too worried watching him instead of taking pictures. If things still look like this tomorrow, I'll get out and take some pictures after I drop him off at school. Hopefully we won't have too much more rain!

The decision to go private...

I've been toying for a couple months now to make my blog private. What convinced me was two sorority sisters and fellow bloggers set their blogs private for more privacy and security for their children. The more I thought about it, the more it made perfect sense. I finally took a look at my live feed and I didn't recognize where many of the visitors were coming from and it began to freak me out. So with that said, WELCOME to our private family blog!

A Rainy Wordless Wednesday....no really...no words.....

My little guy started Pre-K this week. He was very excited and did a great job! He even went to the treasure box and received his prize for getting his stickers all week! We're a proud mommy and daddy! Here are some pictures on our way to school the first day.

Show us your life - School Pictures

I read Kelly's Korner blog and every Friday she has Show us your life. This week is School Pictures and I thought I would participate since I had some of these on my blog. Enjoy and don't laugh TOO hard!

Me and my cousin Jessica back in 1989 before a dance recital. My hair was curled with those pink and purple rod curlers...they were called Hot Sticks!

Me and Keya headed to decades day at our Junior High 1990. YOWZA at the jacket!

Me and my cousin Bree. WOW...the hair! The clear phone. The NKOTB poster on my wall. Clearly this was in the 80's!

We jump to High School. This was my Sophomore year 1992. The hair had calmed down thank goodness but it was still rolled!

Prom 1992. Holy puffy sleeves Batman! And the bouquet looks like I was ready to get married! I think my hair was so high on my head, I was 5 inches taller!!

Senior Class night 1995. These were my closest friends my senior year!! Gotta love the white pantyhose!

Another prom shot, this is 1994. Puffy sleeves gone but sequins were in FULL effect!

And finally, homecoming 1994. Yes, I was queen and this is my friend Chandi who was Senior Maid. I miss the long hair, but I just can't grow it back out! It gets to a certain length and I cut it back off.

I hope you enjoyed a look into my past! I had the big hair and awkward middle school phase, but I think it all evened out in the end!

Thanks Mommy Roach for posting this. I'm SO excited for Saturday!
WAR EAGLE!
