Getting up to speed....

So here are a few highlights of what has been going on around here.

Little Man had swim school at Swim Atlanta and he did a great job! He was promoted to PS2 (the level up from where he was) and not many kids got promoted!
Daddy and short stuff worked hard in the front yard planting our new azalea bushes. One didn't quite make it, but we are hoping that it will make a comeback! He loves helping daddy with everything!

We had a picnic at Playtown. PB&J was the sandwich of choice, with a side of cheese nips and to drink a nice smooth grape juice. After the picnic, he went and played for hours!

We LOVE playing outside. The sand and water table that MiMi and PaPa gave him for his birthday last year has been wonderful, and the umbrella provides just enough shade to make it enjoyable in these HOT summer days!

So come and visit us soon! Big Boy and Diego are resting up for the next day of fun!

Day at the Fountain and Pool

CAM met his new little friend at swim school. They were in the same class and got along so very well, they are now best buds. Swim school was over last week so we got the boys together at the Play Fountain. They were so excited to see each other! The fountain was not working initially so they kicked the ball around for a while. When they did come on, they had the BEST time running and playing in the water. Then about 4 day care busses pulled up with older kids, so we decided to go to the kids pool at his friend's neighborhood. They played for a long time in the pool and they were NOT happy when we had to go home.

GA Aquarium with the besties

Ash and I took our little munchkins to the aquarium. They had not seen each other since JT's birthday in April, so they were a little excited to say the least! They were amazed at all of the marine life and their favorite was the penguins!

McSon's first Hockey Game

We took him to the local hockey game (ECHL) and he had such a good time. When we got there, he danced to the music and I swore he was going to wear himself out! He finally asked the question I had been waiting on..."Where are the Wiggles?" We had seen the Wiggles at the arena a couple months ago and almost every time we pass it, he says "Let's go see the Wiggles Mommy!" Then when the introductions started and the lights dimmed, he was so excited and took it all in. He watched the game for a little bit and then we noticed the mascot, Maximus the lion, was close to us. We went and had a picture made with him and that was IT! The rest of the game he was asking "Where is Max?" We made it a game to look in the stands and find Maximus. He lasted the entire game and even though they lost 1-0, we still had a great time!

Christmas and New Year's wrap up

As usual, Christmas was very busy and hectic, but it was wonderful getting to see family. We awakened Christmas morning very early and Santa toys were there! He played for a little while and then we went down to Phenix City. The fun started at MiMi's house where we opened presents. Then on to MeeMaw and PawPaw's house where we had brunch and opened presents there. Next we hit the road again headed to Aunt Betty's house for more food and presents and then on to nana's house to have Christmas with her. FINALLY around 8:30pm, we headed back to MiMi's house to swap presents with Mammy and Poppie. It was a LONG and BUSY day. We stayed in Phenix City until that Friday and then came back home. On Saturday, McSon had a birthday party to attend so we went there for a couple hours. On New Year's Eve, me and McDaddy went to the Mellow Mushroom for dinner and the FSU game. Then off to the Georgia Dome for the Chick-fil-a bowl featuring AUBURN vs. Clemson. Auburn won in overtime and we left the Dome getting on Marta around 11:30. We ended up ringing in the new year on the northbound train with a bunch of Auburn and Clemson fans. It was a blast though. Here is to a wonderful 2008 and may God bless us all!!

The New Playroom

So I spent FOREVER this afternoon and evening putting his playroom together and organized. We got all of his Christmas presents in there and it looks like a big boy playroom now. The next step, getting him to put his toys away so it will stay looking like this!

McSon's newest friend

My friend's little girl who is 6 months older than our little guy is giving him a lesson in how to play with others. She just started school but we are still going to try and get them together as often as we can.

They were watching Baby Einstein Noah's Ark while the mommies and daddies were watching the FSU game.

Cheese!

We had a good time at the Auburn game last weekend. We are headed tomorrow to the Kenny Chesney concert! YAY! Here are some pics from this past weekend!

Our McSon is growing up way too quickly. It makes me happy but sad at the same time. He loves playing "Firetruck" where he and his daddy put on their fire hats and read his Driving the Fire Truck Book. He can say his ABC's, count to 10, knows his colors, and makes me laugh so hard at times I feel guilty for getting on to him. He finally was able to meet his future girlfriend/wife the other day.

It was great for Stephanie and Ava to meet us in Newnan. I miss them SO much!

Now I just need to figure out when to see my Carmen! I get to see Juli in November and hopefully Beth will come out from California sometime soon (hopefully the Falcons thing pans out)! We are headed to the Auburn game this weekend and I just can't wait! Fall is my favorite time of year. The smell of tailgates early in the morning mixed with that wonderful smell of burbon and coke! Hopefully I'll get to see Korky who I haven't seen since '96! I'll post pictures next week. Gotta love long weekends!

Boy, you're a STAR

Little guy got some pretty cool shades when we had our palm prints made. He put them on today and kept saying "mommy, cheese!" which meant take a picture. He is SUCH a ham! I wonder where he gets THAT from! :) In this picture he put them on himself upside down.

He loves to sing. Today when we were watching Sesame Street, he was singing the theme song! He also sings while he is playing. It is too cute. I think he was trying his ABC's by himself today, but I can't be totally sure. Most things sound like a mumble except Old McDonald. He sings that almost as plain as you can! He played outside yesterday with his new sidewalk chalk. You could tell he was having a lot of fun. I tried to draw him a couple things but I'm no artist! He ended up trying to draw on top of them all.

We read the same book every night before bed. He even asks for it by name now and is starting to read it along with me. He amazes me every day with the things he learns and absorbs. He talked to MiMi on the phone for a while today about the birds on our bird feeder. He said cardinal so very clear. He also talked to Carmen this afternoon and was actually acting a little shy! I couldn't ask for a better little boy. I'm so blessed!

Hamburgers, golf balls, and wet sheets

We ate last night at Fudruckers. Little guy just loves that place. He ate most of his chicken and fries. As soon as we pull in the driveway, he starts saying "golf balls" over and over. That pretty much means Dennis has to take him in the garage where they have set up a mini-driving range (I'll post pics later) and he starts hitting his golf balls. He's pretty good at it! He is getting a golf bag and 3 clubs for his birthday. Hopefully we have a little Tiger on our hands! So he comes in finally and we do our nightly ritual and he goes to bed.

3AM rolls around and he starts crying. He has somehow wet his sheets through his overnight diaper (which he hasn't done since we started using the overnights). Strange thing is his pj's are not wet at all! Go figure. Anyway, he ended up sleeping between us for the rest of the night because his sheets are soaked. Now this morning my neck hurts really bad because he kicked me in the middle of the night. It is nice though cuddling up with short stuff. It makes my heart sing. He's napping right now and Dennis is golfing with Tim. I really should be folding laundry and putting away these toys, but nah. I think I'll take a nap, too!

I love being a mommy.

I know I know

So I've let this stuff slip. I'm getting back with it. Little guy played outside today and now he is POOPED! You can see it in his face as he is playing with his Little People. He did perk up a tad bit when I said we were having Johnny's Pizza for dinner. He turns 2 next month. I'm so sad. I can't believe how quick this time is going by. He's just ratteling off words all of the time. Ho hum. Here is his pic from yesterday.

I'm going to try and blog every day. Until 'morrow!
